Are you always searching for that perfect filter? Are you a cropping master? Can you find the perfect shot in an otherwise run-of-the-mill photo op? If you found yourself answering yes to these questions, then we want to meet you! (Yeah, YOU!)
Surrey is home to an incredible array of beauty, from scenic beach views and breathtaking sights, to the unique shops and wonderful people. That’s why we’re hosting our first ever Instameet, a campaign pioneered by Destination BC and with the help from Raj Thandhi, author of the blog Pink Chai Living. Where do you come in? We want you to help us capture the colours of India right here in Surrey! Join us as we explore the popular Payal Plaza which covers four city blocks and features some of the best Indian shopping and food this city has to offer. Details are as follows:
Where: Payal Business Centre (please refer to the itinerary below for where to meet)
Date: Monday, August 3, 2015 (BC Day)
Time: 1:00pm-3:00pm
Itinerary:
1:00pm: Meet at Made In India Clothing store – 8312 128th Street
1:10pm – 3:00pm: Explore the shops in Payal Plaza, including a colourful sweet shop, traditional clothing and accessory stores, an Indian bakery and more.
3:00pm – 3:30pm: Optional wrap-up for a cup of complimentary Chai tea.
The Colours of India Instameet is a wonderful opportunity to meet local photographers, have a little fun, and show the rest of beautiful British Columbia your True Surrey. The only thing we ask is that you use the hashtags #ExploreBC and #TrueSurrey in your captions. Raj will be there to tour the group, answer questions, translate, provide guidance on how to take creative and colourful photos, and act as a representative from the South Asian community.
Please RSVP by email by July 31st.
