Date Inspiration

The countdown to Valentine’s Day is on, and if you’re at a loss of where to start your date-planning, we’re here to help. Surrey is filled with wonderful dining venues for a romantic evening, or if you’re going for a more laid-back evening with your significant other, there are a TON of things to do, places to see, and brews to sip. So no matter what angle you’re going for: romance, adventure, or casual, you can treat your sweetheart to an evening that’s suited perfectly just for the two of you.

Itching to get dressed up and hit the town for a fabulous evening? Surrey has lots of options for fine dining. For an upscale meal, make a reservation at Tap Restaurant for a guaranteed delicious meal with a beautiful ambience. Morgan’s Restaurant and Wine Bar is extending Valentines Day to the entire (long) weekend before the big day with a set menu of strip-loin steak, prawns, and of course, dessert and wine. The Old Surrey Restaurant, one of Surrey’s notoriously upscale restaurants, is also hosting a Valentines Day Special on February 14th.

For fresh romances or those who prefer to keep things low-key, opt for more casual fare, like what’s on tap at Hawthorne Beer Market. Discover a new brew or share a flight of local and craft beers with your date while enjoying an appetiser and the comfortable decor. Round out the evening with a stroll on the Crescent Beach Boardwalk, just be sure to bundle up for the ocean breeze

Adventurous hearts can try out something completely new: axe throwing! It’s exactly what it sounds like, throwing axes at targets, and Bad Axe Throwing has a number of helpful and patient instructors to guide you along the way to becoming a total pro. Keep the excitement going with dinner and a show at Elements Casino on February 12th. Enjoy a buffet dinner, followed by a performance by top 40’s and soul band Hart and Soul.

Prefer to get hands-on? Kitchen Therapy‘s cooking class for Valentine’s Day was so popular that they added an extra class on February 15th. Make a delicious dinner with your sous-chef, and follow up by getting some hands on your sore, tired muscles at Sueno Spa for a relaxing massage or treat yourselves to a facial.

If the fact that Valentines Day is on a Tuesday this year is not lost on you, staying in for a cosy and relaxing evening is a great way to reconnect with your loved one. Pick up take-out Sushi from Kami Sushi on your way home from work and pop on an episode of your favourite TV show. Be sure to pick up some chocolates for dessert, Mink Chocolates in South Surrey, or Into Chocolate in Cloverdale are both excellent options with an array of flavours.
