On Saturday June 21st from 11am to 4pm, 48 sites in City Centre, Bear Creek, Newton and Cloverdale will open their doors, free of charge.
And you’re invited.
The mother of all tourist-in-your-own-town events, Doors Open is celebrating its third year in the City of Surrey and 2014 promises not to disappoint! This year’s roster includes everything from parks and recreation centres to universities and places of worship, with loads of food and entertainment to boot. The beauty of this event is that there’s plenty of ways to approach it. Handpick the places that pique your interest; organize your itinerary around your expectations or around the kids, for that matter. There are plenty of child-friendly activities, too…
In the spirit of TrueCommunity, Doors Open is an opportunity for residence and visitors alike to experience a crash course in the cultural richness of Surrey. The organizers couldn’t have made it any easier, either. Each township is offering a hop-on hop-off trolley service to get you around town in style (with departures every 30 minutes except for Newton, with departures every hour). You’ll find everything you need to know in the Doors Open 2014 Event Guide.
Feeling social? Doors Open positively LOVES Facebook likes and they’ve even joined the conversation on Twitter @CityofSurrey, hashtag #SurreyDoorsOpen.
