There’s nothing better than getting out and enjoying the crisp autumn weather. Harvesting your own food, hedge and corn mazes, and pumpkin picking and patches are all some classic Fall activities. And with this list, you don’t even have to leave the city! A family-fun day in the fall has never been easier to experience. Get pickin’ and stay spooky.

Since 1999, the Bose Family Corn Maze (5948 156 Street) has been welcoming visitors from across Canada and as far away as Europe. Join them starting August 26 for nightly corn mazes, and throughout October for their pumpkin patch fun. Be sure to try some fresh buttered corn at the Corn Maze concession stand before leaving with your perfect pumpkins.

Hazelmere Pumpkin Patch (1633 170 Street) is a family owned and run farm that provides hours of fun. The pumpkin patch includes a wagon ride and a petting zoo, which is perfect for a weekend outing in the fall. Opening weekend is Saturday Sept 29th and Sunday Sept 30th, so mark your calendars! Also, be sure to check their website for information on their pumpkin carving festival, as well as the haunted corn maze.

U-Pick at Surrey Farms (5180 152 Street) has a wide variety of fruits and vegetables sourced from local farms. Based on the season, fields are open for you and yours to pick fruit fresh off the plant. From strawberries and Okanagan cherries, to Chilliwack corn and romaine, Surrey Farms has all of the fresh produce you could ask for.

Port Kells Nurseries Pumpkin Patch (18730 88 Avenue) is open the entire month of October for all your Autumn needs. They’ve got loads of activities to keep you busy, rain or shine. From hay rides and cedar mazes, to animal areas and the Pumpkin Café, there’s something for everyone. They’ve even got an Event Centre just in case it rains, so the kids can still play and you get your quality family time.
