Flavours of Newton

For something sweet, head over to Sundae Delight (101B – 7750 128 Street) for one of their signature Faloodas. This treat is full of sweet and subtle flavours. A falooda consists of Vercilli noodles, basil seeds, ice cream, and is topped with crushed nuts and rose syrup. Not the usual topping of rainbow sprinkles you’d find at any old ice cream shop, but this treat is quite popular in South Asia, and for a good reason! The combination of flavours is perfectly refreshing for a warm day.

If you’re a meat lover, you will pleased to hear about the Exotic Burgers from Flaming Ice Family Restaurant and Sports Bar (F106 – 15153 Highway 10). With meat choices that include wild boar, kangaroo, and even crocodile, you will most certainly find something new to try. Stop by for burgers that are sure to surprise and delight your taste buds.

Everyone likes a classic pizza, you may have even branched out and tried some sweet pizzas before, but at Pepperoni Cafe (6388 120 Street), they are taking it up a notch. With apple, cherry, and blueberry pie fillings drizzled with cream cheese icing on top of classic pizza crust, Pepperoni Cafe is truly embodying the pizza ‘pie’ with their sweet creations.

Head to Kid’s Play Cafe and Cafe Artistico (8 – 14885 60 Avenue) for a dining experience that the kids will love. With an indoor jungle gym that young children will love to explore and seating for older patrons, Kid’s Play is the perfect spot for young families. Try their Nutella mocha, a fun twist on a classic drink, sure to give you a boost of energy to keep up with the little ones!

Enjoy rich flavours that you won’t find outside of Bombay at Apna Chaat House (7500 120 Street). This award winning restaurant has been recognised by Vancouver Magazine and many others, for bringing  the rich flavours of Indian street food to Surrey. While you will have a difficult time finding something that you won’t enjoy, we recommend you try their galapagos. This savoury fried snack, served with potatoes and chickpeas, is so good, you won’t be able to get enough of them!
