We first met June Danielson, @fox.flight on Instagram, when she came out to our Crescent Beach Instameet hosted on BC Day. Her cheeks and dress were dusted with bright blue, yellow, and purple hues, she donned a big smile, and her bright red hair shone in the sunlight. To say that June is a ray of sunshine is an understatement, and her zest for life comes through brilliantly in her photos.
June had attended the Holi Colour Festival in Surrey, which celebrates friendship, love, and camaraderie, prior to photographing the Crescent Beach area, hence the colourful dusting. She bounced from location to location, snapping photos and chatting with fellow photographers, a true example of the kinds of champions that make Surrey a great place to live in and visit.
When she isn’t taking beautiful photos or spreading her cheer, June is a student pilot based at Boundary Bay airport, and she’s an avid trail runner. As a Surrey local, she takes advantage of the city’s amazing parks and trails, and loves to share her favourite or newly found running spots with her Instagram followers. As a resident of Surrey, she appreciates the wooded and riverside runs close to her doorstep, which she has found through community programs such as mushroom walks, bird tours, park clean ups and rowing lessons.
Her unique perspective, appreciation for natural beauty, and eye for stunning lighting will be showcased all week, as June will be taking over our Instagram account! She will be sharing her favourite photos she’s taken around the community. From photos taken from the cockpit, to Blackie Spit Park, and all the beautiful trails in between, check our Instagram account daily for some of June’s most beautiful captures.
