You know it’s almost time for fall, and with it, all the fun activities to do with the family. Pumpkin spice, corn mazes, haunted houses and more await you in Surrey. So, get out there and enjoy fall to the fullest.
Hazelmere Pumpkin Patch (1633 170 Street) has two awesome family friendly events happening this autumn! Visit their website for more event information, as well as their patch hours. The Pumpkin Carving Festival is on Saturday, October 6th from 10:00am to 5:00pm: Join in on the 4th annual pumpkin carving festival, where a few enthusiastic pumpkin carvers will show off their artistic talents and create pumpkin masterpieces. There’s loads of activities for the family, including face painting by Emiko, a bunny petting area, petting zoos, and a wagon ride out to the mini corn maze and pumpkin patch. The Haunted Corn Maze is on October 20th and 27th: and here’s lots of fun to be had! Hop on the night wagon ride, then head into the mini corn maze. Here you will meet a plethora of characters, like ghouls, clowns, zombies and more who haunt the maze. This is a family friendly event, but caution is advised as it may be too scary for some.
Historic Stewart Farm (13723 Crescent Road) also has two fun and exciting events to attend. This historic spot has loads of activities to keep you and the family busy. Be sure to check out their comprehensive list of events on the city of Surrey’s site. The Haunted Farm Family Day on October 27 from 12:00 to 3:00pm offers a free, one-day event held at the Historic Stewart Farm. This safe and fun family drop-in shares old-time traditions, crafts and spooky treats. Activities like scavenger hunts and Halloween themed games are available for those of all ages to enjoy. The Olde Harvest Fair is on September 22 from 11:00am to 3:00pm. Ring in fall like locals did for the first annual fall fair held in 1888! Celebrate the harvest with food, neighbourly competitions and music. See some local vendors, re-enactments, and tours of the 1984 farmhouse with the whole family.
Potters House of Horrors (12530 72 Avenue) will give you a scare as BC’s scariest haunted houses during the entire month of October. Choose from two ultra scary houses: Monstrosity 2.0 and Devils Descent. Feeling a little apprehensive? Attend one of the Family Hour houses for a little less terror, or take the kids to the Li’l Haunters for some fun activities and two smaller haunted houses.
