Holiday Baking To Go

We get it … the holiday season is a busy one! So, if taking time to bake holiday treats and desserts has been shuffled to the bottom of your to-do list, don’t fret, Surrey’s bakeries and patisseries are happy to help.  Leave the holiday baking to the experts and pick up some wow-worthy treats.

Pop-Up Patisserie by JRG
5708 176 Street (Cloverdale)

The Pop-Up Patisserie has returned to Cloverdale for another holiday season. Located in Cloverdale at JRG’s head office, the Pop-Up Patisserie will feature a collection of handmade artisanal pastries, handcrafted preserves, spreads, and syrups, seasonal goods, and the infamous hot chocolate bomb. This year’s Pop-Up shop features the creations of Chef Bruno Feldeisen, a French chef, restaurateur and judge on CBC’s The Great Canadian Baking Show!

Short & Sweet Patisserie
104 – 16793 60 Avenue (Cloverdale)

The award-winning Short & Sweet Patisserie clearly knows what they’re doing when it comes to cookies, and rum balls, and delicious desserts! The kids (and maybe the adults) will love their paint-it-yourself cookies and cookie gift bags. For the adults, it’s got to be the tipsy rum balls, and everyone will be amazed by the Passion Fruit and Raspberry Mousse Domes.  Sadly, December 24, 2021 will be the last day of operations for Short & Sweet, so this week is your last chance!

JustCakes Bake Shop
#5 – 7548 120 Street (Newton)
#103-17767 64 Avenue (Cloverdale)

While the name of the shop is JustCakes, we assure you that they have so much more than cakes. This holiday season the bakers have gone all out with cupcakes with mile-high frosting, exquisitely decorated sugar cookies, macarons in all flavours and colours, the most delicious pecan tarts and the always popular “cake in a jar”!

Fieldstone Artisan Bread
#2 – 12823 Crescent Road (South Surrey)

Stepping into South Surrey’s Fieldstone Artisan Breads feels like you’ve been swept away to a quaint boulangerie in the heart of Paris. Everything is made from scratch with only the finest natural ingredients. Make your season happy and bright with a cookie platter of white chocolate peppermint cookies, almond juliettes, chocolate-dipped coconut macaroons, shortbread coins, ginger slices or melt-in-your-mouth pecan frosties, just to name a few of our favourites!

St. Germain Bakery
10355 152 Street (Guildford Town Centre)

St. Germain Bakery is celebrating the season with the likes of a rich chocolate cake, classic Black Forest or the show-stopping Rose cake (light almond cake filled with rose mascarpone cream and topped with gorgeous “petals”). Open since 1986, St. Germain Bakery specializes in Asian and European inspired baked goods, and if it’s a holiday cake that you’re after, then St. Germain is your spot. Pick up some colourful macarons while you’re there!

Happy Cakes Cupcakes
101-18640 Fraser Hwy (Cloverdale)

Is there anything better than a cupcake? It’s everything we love about cake, shrunk down to a perfect bite-sized morsel of deliciousness! And the cupcakes at Happy Cakes are perfection. Artistically decorated and exquisitely flavoured, choose from holiday flavours like Gingerbread, Peppermint Snow, Santa’s Cookies, White Chocolate Mocha and Winter Wonderland. And if you’re quick, you might still be able to order a Mini Cupcake Holiday Wreath – 20 chocolate or vanilla mini cupcakes, topped with vanilla buttercream, and fondant decor, fashioned into a wreath.

Sweet Avenue Bakery
135, 17455 – 56 Avenue (Cloverdale)

Hot cocoa bombs were the must-have sweet treat last Christmas and they’re back again this year at Sweet Avenue Bakery. Also available, and would look amazing on a Christmas dessert platter, are exquisite french macarons in a rainbow of colours and flavours, mini brownies and a mouthwatering selection of classic pastries.
