FVDED In the Park

Holland Park

FVDED In the Park is back with a star-studded lineup of performers on July 8th and 9th. The annual all-ages music festival hosted at Holland Park promises a fun and energetic weekend and you definitely don’t want to miss out. Get ready to expect the loud bustle of festival-goers, packed Skytrains, and the sound of musical performances that can be heard for blocks!

National Truck Show

BC Vintage Truck Museum | 6022 176 Street

Pop into the BC Vintage Truck Museum as they celebrate anniversary milestones of two of BC’s legendary truck manufacturers. Hayes Anderson Truck is marking its 100th anniversary, and the Pacific Truck, its 75th! Truck lovers will enjoy checking out the many rare vehicles on display like a 1929 Packard, a Rumley steam tractor and the famous “Highway Thru Hell” Hayes tow truck. Take a tour through the museum and there will be food and drinks available for purchase.

Ta’Talu Festival

Join in a family-friendly afternoon celebrating and enjoying the beauty of nature in the Hazelmere Valley and along the Little Campbell River. There will be food trucks, kids’ activities, guided tours, ‘en plein air’ artists, live music, and even poetry readings! Guests include the Hazelmere Heritage Fiddlers, Vancouver’s Poet Laureate, Fiona Tinwei Lam, and Surrey’s past Poet Laureate, Renee Sarojini Saklikar. Plenty of free parking on site. Bring your own lawn chair.

This one’s for the whole family! The Honeybee Centre is opening up its hive on July 16 and 17 and you better beelieve it’s going to be a ton of fun! This FREE event for the whole family has everything including the famous Bee Beards, live beekeeping demos, a local artisan market,  bouncy castle, BBQ, and much more!

Surrey Latin Festival

The Surrey Latin Festival is a celebration of all things … well, Latin! This July 16 and 17 head to Surrey’s City Hall Civic Plaza and let yourself be immersed in the vibrant sights, sounds and smells of Latin dance, music and food. Both days will be filled with authentic talent on the main stage and you can eat to your heart’s content with mouth-watering creations from Latin food vendors. Come live the best of summer and best of all, admission is free!

Explore Indigenous drawing, painting, beading, woodworking, carving and silver smithing from the artists of Cedar Sage and Sweetgrass, an eclectic community of indigenous artists who are inspired by each other and who want to share their work in new ways.  Proud to bring the unique perspectives of First Nations, Métis, and Inuit peoples, artists, artisans and makers hail from both BC and Alberta. The entire weekend, from noon to 5 pm, the Museum of Surrey will feature Indigenous food, art and performances.

The Glades Woodland Garden

Surrey Civic Theatres Summer POP! is back! These “performances outdoors in parks” are as delightful as they sound. Stroll through a picturesque park, and as you move about you discover pop-up performances in different locations. Each show station hosts a micro-performance that lasts approximately fifteen minutes before you stroll to the grand finale.  July’s performances take place at The Glades Woodland Garden and include being serenaded by the Celtic-infused harp performances of Diemm, the ambient and distinct music of Treesong on “Fuhorns”, the dazzling sleight of hand of magician Travis Bernhardt and the foot-stomping, hand-clapping grand finale of Pat Chessell Trio’s Kitchen Party. Tickets are limited … purchase early to save disappointment.

Fusion Festival

Surrey’s annual Fusion Festival truly has everything a culture connoisseur looks for in an event. On July 23 and 24, enjoy incredibly diverse and delicious cuisine, musical and dance performances, over 50 different cultural pavilions, and a never-ending supply of family-friendly activities. Sounds of Summer

The sweet sounds of live and local music will be wafting through the fresh air in Surrey’s parks each and every Wednesday evening, and select Friday afternoons, this Summer. With genres that range from Jazz and Neo Soul to Motown and Latin and everything in between, there’s a free concert for all types of music genres. Bring your own chair or blanket or let the music move you and dance all night long, it’s all up to you! Jethro Tull’s Martin Barre – Aqualung 50th Anniversary Tour

Aqualung, probably the most famous and celebrated of all of Jethro Tull’s albums, is now celebrating 50 years since its release in 1971. At the centre of Tull’s unique sound is guitarist Martin Barre, who is renowned for his formidable mastery of historic riffs, power chords and soaring melodic solos. Martin is celebrating the 50th anniversary of the release of the iconic and legendary album Aqualung with a worldwide tour. He will be bringing a spectacular show playing the album in its entirety with his touring band, The Martin Barre Band, including special guest Clive Bunker, Tull’s original drummer who played on Stand Up, Benefit and Aqualung. The anniversary tour will be a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to sit back and relive this legendary album, being played in full and in sequence for the first time.
