You’ve all seen it, and wondered, what is that bright pink building that you can see as you drive along Highway 99 in South Surrey? Known by locals as the “Pink Palace” (it’s really pink), the hotel opened in 1992 as the Pacific Inn Resort & Conference Centre and closed in 2018. Since closing, the hotel has been used as a film location for TV shows like The Flash, Riverdale, Batwoman and Stephen King’s The Stand. But there’s more to this shuttered hotel than meets the eye. In fact, rumour has it that the building is haunted and guests and staff have reported encounters that one might call … paranormal!
If exploring the possibility of celestial beings is your thing, well you’re in luck, because the current owners of the hotel have decided to open the doors and welcome visitors to join them for a 90-minute walking tour of the Pacific Inn Hotel & Resort, currently known as Pink Palace Film. From a knowledgeable guide, you’ll learn about the history and legends of the hotel, hear about the ghost stories and sightings and see where some of your favourite shows have been filmed.
Want to take it to another level? Look for one of the tours that feature a late-night paranormal investigation. The Paranormal Road Trippers, an investigative team, is joining some of the tours with a metaphysical and a scientific approach to ghost hunting, using the latest paranormal equipment and a spiritual medium. You will rotate through different areas of the hotel with a trained paranormal investigator, focusing on the most active areas in the building.
And for the truly brave, book the Overnight Halloween Paranormal Event and spend Halloween night searching for spirits. But beware, there is no time to sleep, and no beds left to sleep in!
Limited dates are available, and this may be your last chance before the hotel is renovated and reopened, so be sure to book soon! Who knows, you may even have an encounter of your own … many have!
