Skate

Rounding up the family and heading to your local arena for a family ice skate is a classically Canadian pass-time. It’s a great way to pair good old-fashioned exercise and family bonding time. If you grew up in Surrey, you may have some fond memories of skating at the flooded field at Fry’s Corner (The Honeybee Centre stands there today) or even a game of shinny on the Serpentine Fen.

Serving up some serious childhood nostalgia throughout the season are several holiday-themed public skates. So sharpen those blades and suit up with toques and mittens and hit the ice in Surrey!

Winter Ice Palace

The Cloverdale Arena transforms into a Winter wonderland for three weeks of festive skating. Complete with a pond and all your favourite holiday decorations, this family skate option is sure to get you into the holiday spirit in no time. Times vary for this winter event, so be sure to check the website while trip planning!
