I scream, you scream, we all scream for ice cream! The folks at The Joseph Richard Group have heard our screams and have brought back “Sweet Republic“, a wildly popular gourmet ice cream pop-up that graced White Rock beach back in 2017. This time, instead of White Rock, Sweet Republic has opened its doors in Cloverdale at The Henry and will be open daily from 12 pm to 8 pm serving up vanilla soft serve ice cream with crazy toppings and fun names like “Birthday Blitz” (sprinkles and a birthday cake macaron), “Candy Shop” (gummy bears, m&ms, nerds & gummy worms), “The Pick Me Up” (Dalgona whipped coffee, chocolate sauce & mocha beans). And trust us, they’re as yummy as they look!
This year, Sweet Republic has upped their ice cream game with a new partnership with Abbotsford’s Birchwood Dairy. Birchwood’s ice cream is coveted across Metro Vancouver for its smooth, creamy consistency and amazing locally influenced flavours, and 12 hand-picked flavours, including Caramel Pecan Fudge, Peanut Butter Cup and Green Tea, will be available at Sweet Republic in 2L & 1L take home pints.
And, if ice cream isn’t your thing (!!), this year’s Pop-up also features “Happy Macaron” & “Creative Juices”, divisions of JRG’s virtual food court, “Canteen”, and purveyors of nutritious vitamin-packed, preservative-free cold-pressed juices & quality hand-made macarons.
