We love a good walk in the park, and when that walk is paired with a compelling nature story? Perfection! Nestled beside Green Timbers Urban Forest, the Surrey Nature Centre is a place for kids and adults to explore nature in Surrey. And springtime at the Surrey Nature Centre bustles with activity and education.
Green Timbers is known as the birthplace of reforestation in British Columbia. The Surrey Nature Centre is dedicated to educating our young ones about the importance of green spaces and urban forests. Explore the Arboretum, home to more than 77 different tree species, and let your imagination run wild at the Pole Forest Adventure area. This spring, the centre provides numerous opportunities to unleash your inner urban naturalist.
Families can explore the interactive indoor space, packed with displays of local flora and fauna, a reading nook filled with plant and animal guidebooks and Sammy the Salamander! Then borrow a fishing rod to cast a line or a backpack full of activities to kick-start your adventures outside.
