Oh, Canada.

If you think Canada is the best place on earth, then join the club. It’s a big club, and one that’s fiercely proud.

It’s no surprise, really. There are countless reasons to be proud of living in the True North Strong and Free. From our hockey, beer, and poutine, to our cultural diversity and unrelenting friendliness. From our bustling cities and breathtaking landscapes, to equal rights and Northern Lights. We also have some pretty great exports like William Shatner and Michael J. Fox. We may be known for saying sorry A LOT, but when it comes to celebrating our country, we’re 100 percent unapologetic.

Surrey is known for throwing Canada one heck of a birthday party. In fact, it’s the largest Canada Day Celebration in Western Canada, with last year’s festival drawing over 120,000 attendees!

The event features live music throughout the day that includes The Hip Show, a Tragically Hip tribute band, The Zolas, Mark Donnelly, and headliners, Blue Rodeo. And what’s a birthday party without a mouthwatering feast? Choose from hot dogs, corn on the cob, fresh made lemonade, cotton candy, wood oven pizza, BBQ ribs, poutine, gourmet burgers, Caribbean food, chicken wings, hand-made ice cream and mini donuts. Or…don’t choose and eat it all! The festival also includes a sports zone, amusement rides, The Re-enactors from Surrey Museum, and Kids World, which features a giant sandbox, games, toddler town, Storyville and fun Canada Day-themed crafts for the kids. The celebration closes with a Firework Spectacular.
