What’s Happening in Surrey this August

The countdown to the end of summer may have started, but it’s not time to put away those flip-flops and sunglasses just yet!  Hot days and warm August nights are the perfect time to get out into Surrey’s natural beauty and celebrate with family and friends.

Beach House Theatre presents Servant of 2 Masters
August 9 – 14, 2022 (preview August 8)
3140 McBride Avenue

Head to the magical setting of Blackie Spit at Crescent Beach, and settle in for the wild and wonderful outdoor antics of the Beach House Theatre. In the great tradition of Italian slapstick comedy, “The Servant of Two Masters”, is all mischief and mayhem, lost love, disguises, mysterious murder plots, pen fights and more! This slapstick romp is full of zany, contemporary humour. For the first time at Beach House, the show will feature a few comic musical numbers and is sure to be another big hit with audiences!

Paddling at Crescent Beach

The Crescent Beach Paddle Shack (3136 McBride Avenue) is open! With the Pacific Ocean right at our fingertips (toe tips?), water activities are an essential part of any Surrey summer. Beginners and advanced paddlers can visit Sea to Sky Adventure Company’s Paddle Shack at Crescent Beach to rent paddleboards and kayaks and explore the warm, calm waters of the protected bay.  Lessons and tours are also available.

Farmers Markets

With the warmer months come Surrey’s bounty of fresh local produce just waiting to be devoured. After all, 30 per cent of Surrey’s land is dedicated to agriculture and committed to local food-growing. So it’s no surprise that there are a variety of Farmers Markets and farm stores peppered across the city where you can pick and choose your weekly produce pickup.
