World Oceans Day

Keeping our oceans spick-and-span may be serious business, but that doesn’t mean we can’t have a little (or a lot!) of fun in the process of teaching future generations the importance of a healthy ocean.

World Oceans day is being celebrated on June 5th in Surrey at Blackie Spit, as a part of a city wide Environmental Extravaganza initiative! Here in Surrey, we’re incredibly lucky to have a direct line to the water. Our beautiful Boundary Bay shores and Nikomekl River banks breathe into the North Pacific Ocean, so it’s safe to say that we have a vested interest in seeing the deep blue sea prosper.

With live music, guided walks to the beach, birdwatching, and a chance to get up close and personal with marine animals, we’d argue that this event isn’t just for lovers of the ocean, it’s for animal lovers, Crescent Beach lovers, and for anyone who has felt the sea-breeze on their skin. Bring the whole family, as there’s a ton of kid approved fun to be had!
